Christmas 2017

It is rare that I sit down at the keyboard on a holiday and write something. No fancy graphics, no witty memes, no smart comments – just a sincere, heart-felt wish that all of my family, friends, work-mates, and extended family that they have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New New.

Let us also remember that the reason for this holiday is not to find out who gave or received the biggest or most expensive gift, because that has already been given – God’s Son Jesus. He was born so he could later give the most precious gift of all to Mankind – Eternal Life in Heaven in the presence of God Almighty.

Again, allow me to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas on this most special day.

End of Year 2017

For some reason, I’m finding it very hard to sit down and write a post at this time of year. Usually, I like to take a look back at the year that is almost complete and review the impressions that it has made upon the country. This year, it’s a mixture of highs and lows. Let me explain.

The election and swearing in of Donald Trump as President of the United States was certainly a high point for several reasons. The big one (at least for me) was the rejection of the American People of the corrupt Democratic candidate as well as a thumb in the eye of the establishment politicians. The stock market has taken off as a result, the economy is up, and jobs (for those people looking for them) are becoming available as companies are becoming more optimistic about the future. In general, the country appears to be breathing a sigh of relief that President Trump is working out better than expected. Unless, of course, you’re a Leftist Democrat…

The Democrats are still bitching and moaning about President Trump’s election, and doing their damnedest to smear and otherwise demean the man. I still think that they are sore losers, and the shenanigans that they are pulling are wearing thin. The first of this smearing is the accusation the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to sway the election.

I’m finding it fascinating that in the months since the allegation was made, not one shred of evidence has been uncovered that directly links the campaign with the Russians. Of course, this means (at least to the Democrats) that there is a link that needs to be found and duly investigated. But since that time, several links to the Democratic Party’s campaign have been found (and recently, with the Green Party as well), but we’re supposed to ignore those. But I’m not surprised in some respects…

The recent discovery of links of Special Council Mueller being politically biased against the President along with several of his investigators is troubling at best. Any sane person would expect that Mueller would recuse himself immediately along with his team of investigators. Failing that, Attorney General Sessions should grow a spine, sack Mueller, and replace him with verified neutral & objective investigators. This is the only way to restore any form of credibility to a politically charged investigation.

The next smear is the continued allegation that President Trump is a sexual predator, pointing back to the leaked tape of what was supposed to be a semi-private comment to a reporter that. Now in my mind, there is a huge difference about talking about an act vs. actually committing that act. To the best of my knowledge, there is no credible evidence that President Trump did anything but talk. However…

There has come to light massive amounts of evidence that many Congresscritters and their supporters, mostly Democrat, having assaulted numerous women and covered it up (some with taxpayer hush money). If we want to go back to President Kennedy, his brother Ted, President Clinton, and Hollywood Mogul and Democratic supporter Harvey Weinstein, then the Democrats have absolutely no moral high ground to point fingers. Those incidents have proof, and are documented. I do expect, that these sorts of attacks will continue upon both President Trump and any Republican candidate since Roy Moore was defeated in Alabama during a special election among charges of sexual impropriety from 30+ years ago.

But let’s not worry about any kind of accountability for real crimes…

Why are people like Felonia von Pantsuit and her husband (with multiple accomplices) not being held accountable for the pay-to-play schemes such as Uranium One scandal, using their foundation as a money-laundering business, real collusion with the Russians, and multiple other felonies such as lying to the FBI, destroying government property, national security violations, & so on? That is what the investigators should be focusing on, not something made up to cast doubt and focus attention elsewhere.

Moving on…

The Republican-controlled Congress failed in their campaign promise of repealing ObamaCare. The best excuse that I can find is that they didn’t expect Trump to win the election, and were caught flat-footed without any legislation ready to go. They certainly didn’t help themselves when proposing a half-assed bill that was sunk by members of their own party. Some of these morons will not be returning to Congress come mid-term elections, and are facing challengers from their own party for their seat. I personally think that they were expecting Felonia von Pantsuit to be elected, and they could position themselves as being the voice of reason against the evil successor to the first Black president, although I have my doubts that they would have a spine or the testicular fortitude to oppose the first woman president…

Now the Republicans are moving forward with a tax-reform bill that has passed the House and Senate, although there appears to be a couple of procedural hiccups as this post is being written. I fully expect the bill to be passed and signed into law by the President. From what I understand from the language that has been analyzed, it’s a mixed bag. Overall, I think it will be good for most Americans. The losers will be in high taxation states such as California and New York. Perhaps those voters need to look at and pay attention to what their state legislators are spending their hard-earned tax money on…

…Such as protection for illegal aliens…

The “cool” thing for cities and states to do to show their independence and disrespect for President Trump & the Federal government is to declare themselves as “sanctuary cities” or in the case of California, a “sanctuary state.” These mayors, governers and other officials are now using taxpayer money to clothe, house, and defend the deportation of people who violated Federal immigration laws (i.e., criminals). These officials tend not to discriminate between hard-core criminals and those just seeking a better life for themselves and their families. In other words, they are favoring criminals over the safety and well being of their citizens.

I can think of no better example of this that the case of Kathryn Steinle who was murdered (in my opinion) in San Francisco (a sanctuary city) by an illegal immigrant with multiple violations (including seven felonies). The immigrant, Garcia Zarate, was arrested and released from custody even though the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement had a detainer issued against him. Zarate late found a gun, discharged it, and the bullet killed Steinle. Zarate was later aquitted of all murder charges (including involuntary manslaughter). In other words, if San Francisco was not a sanctuary city and complied with the Federal detention order, an American citizen would still be alive.

Other examples can be found throughout the country – illegal immigrants with criminal records being released to later commit crimes of theft, DUI, and murder. All sanctioned by elected officials violating their oaths of office and the laws of this country.

Why, in the name of all that is Holy, do we allow our elected officials to protect criminals?

Folks, I could go on and on about the ills of chain immigration policies, DACA, the identity politics practiced by the Democratic Party, and the Left’s claims of being tolerant only to qualified same-thinking people, and so on, but that is more time that I just do not have for this year.

Instead, I would like to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Just a Few Thoughts

This is the time of year that no one has time or energy to do a whole lot other than trying to complete year-end work and shop for that “perfect” present for your loved ones. Doesn’t leave a whole lot of time to do much else, so here are a few thoughts on some of the current events.

The Republican’s have passed a revised tax bill through both houses of Congress. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not as some of the rumblings about the bills as they head toward reconciliation may not be a good thing for the American people. Various deductions have been removed and others increased, appears to be business friendly, Obamacare penalty is gone, but who knows what the final version will look like. A bit nervous with this one.

Of course, the Democrats are bitching and moaning about not being heard (they were, but they were making horse’s asses of themselves), that it will impact the middle class (as if they have really given a crap about the middle class except around election time), and that it was passed without Democrat support (just like Obamacare). While I think they may have some good points in the noise that they are generating, they have not participated in good faith, have not (to my knowledge) offered anything constructive, and the bigger point, would have passed a massive tax increase if they were in charge of Congress. While I don’t trust politicians in general, I definitely do not trust a politician with a “D” after their name.

Pause for thought – There are 535 Legislators in both houses of Congress that set laws and policies for this country. Thus far, the country’s bond rating has been downgraded and is trillions of dollars in debt. To keep the country going, money has to be borrowed and paid back with interest. All this shows is that the majority of lawyers and idealists that make up the political parties do not have this country’s best interest as part of their agenda, but desire to stay in power whatever the cost. Whereupon…

It’s probably been stated before, but I believe that both parties are against President Trump. He is a political outsider, and if he is able to push through his agenda, it will prove that the politicians for the past 50-plus years have been screwing the American people over.

This country does not have a tax problem. This country has a spending problem. How many times have we heard or read about a frivolous spending item that costs millions of dollars in tax dollars? There is very little accountability in the massive bureaucracy that is the government. But that appears to be changing a little.

The sex scandal that has rocked Hollywood has spilled over to the halls of Congress. Politicians have been found using a taxpayer funded hush fund to pay off their victims. This is reprehensible. Bad-behaving politicians have no personal stake in changing their behavior. The money doesn’t come out of their personal pocket, and the victims sign an agreement to not say anything about the incident. They have no reason to change, and no accountability for their actions.

It is fascinating to me that the majority of politicians caught up in this are Democrats. You know, the ones that alway state that they are “for women’s rights” and some other drivel? Where was the outrage that the Democrats are now showing when a known sexual predator by the name “Slick Willie” was in the White House, and the Democrats covered it up? These incidents keep me thinking that the Democratic Party is poison for this country.

Of course, we have to keep in mind that the Republicans are only marginally better… I’m wondering if they will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on the tax reform bill like they did with repealing Obamacare. If so, then they could very well lose control of Congress during the mid-terms.

That’s all for now. What do you think?

Sutherland

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families of the Sutherland shooting.

The blood hadn’t even cooled when the various politicians, celebrities, and “experts” started calling for more gun control, demonizing the NRA, attacked the victims for being in church, and generally getting everything wrong. In the days after the shooting, several embarrassing facts (at least for them) emerged.

The shooter was discharged from the military for bad behavior, assaulted and severely injured a child, and escaped from a mental hospital. By all accounts, he was not supposed to be able to own any firearms. However, such records were not reported by the military to the FBI (who run the background check service), and the shooter was able to purchase several firearms including an AR15. This is the government oversight that these elitists claim to be so wonderful in keeping everyone safe, but cannot abide by the laws and regulations that they are charged with following.

The shooter was stopped by another person with an AR15 who responded to the crisis. So a good guy with a gun, not the police, stopped the shooting and saving lives. This is not what was originally reported.

The person that stopped the shooter was a former NRA instructor. The media has taken great pains to omit this fact because this doesn’t fit the narrative that the NRA is the cause of the shooting by promoting gun rights. The NRA is for gun rights for the law-abiding citizen for self defense, not the wackos that go off the cliff and start shooting everyone in site.

USA Today doubled-down on the stupidity by publishing a video that purported to show the configuration of the AR15 that the shooter used, and implied that an accessory – a chainsaw bayonet – was used. Obviously, someone has too much time on their hands to make stuff up, or has played one too many fantasy shooter games that has caused a break with reality. At the very least, this is sloppy reporting and promoting an agenda that real news organizations should not have as their business model. It’s no wonder that the media is losing market share & credibility, and is being labeled “Fake News”.

Gun grabbing Democrats introduced legislation that would have done absolutely nothing to prevent shootings like Sutherland, Los Vegas, and almost any other mass shooting (which occur with frightening frequency in gun-free zones). Legislation such as gun-free zones prohibit law-abiding people from carrying firearms, rendering them and the people around them defenseless. Criminals, on the other hand, have absolutely no problems in violating these laws. Paper, or prohibitive laws for that matter, are not an effective barriers to criminal intent or bullets. FYI – Politicians who write such laws are complicit in the murder of people in these zones.

The last time I checked, the Second Amendment is a civil right. Any lawmaker or person wishing to limit or disarm a law abiding person is seeking to deprive that person of their civil rights. This includes legislation from the 1934 gun control acts forward. While I agree that criminals should not have weapons, they will find a way to acquire them and prey upon the law abiding population. And it will become worse if the population is disarmed – look at Great Britain and Australia had increases in violent crime when firearms were essentially banned for the population.

There are somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 gun controls laws on the books, yet very few of them are enforced with any regularity. Often, illegal gun charges are pled down by prosecutors to clear the court calendars. Fact – Of the attempted 48,000 illegal gun buys by criminals during the Obama administration, only 44 were prosecuted. Obviously, there are enough laws on the books concerning illegal gun usage, there just isn’t any will to enforce them.

To drive the above points home, Chicago has a Sutherland body count every couple of weeks on the average. Gun free zones and restrictive laws are obviously doing a bang-up job of keeping crime off the streets – not.

Last, several “celebrities” have mocked the victims and their families for being in church and praying, making statements that God and prayers didn’t protect them. Of course, these are the same hypocritical people that preach tolerance and compassion for everyone (probably only for other people that think like them). I’m crossing these intolerant bastards off my list of any movies or shows that I would watch.

In closing…

The media is biased beyond belief, either willingly publishing false information or being willfully ignorant of the basic facts about firearms or even the rights of American citizens. The politicians are just as bad if not worse as they are in positions of power, and they too are either willfully ignorant, or willfully malicious in promoting an agenda that puts their constituency at risk but keeps them in power. Last are the “celebrities” who have lost so much credibility in the past few weeks – they have absolutely no moral standing to lecture any of us on what is right or wrong.

I don’t know about you, but these elitists that are calling for us to be like Europe or Australia and banning guns have no problems with you or I bleeding out on the ground as long as you and I are disarmed. They will have their way, be in power, and have armed guards protecting them. We, the little people (or normals as Kurt Schlichter calls us) don’t count as we are merely a means to an end, and robbed of the means to defend ourselves from the criminals or from the tyranny that the elitists would like to have.

Which is precisely why the Founders included the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights.
