“I have no illusions about what little I can add now to the silent testimony of those who gave their lives willingly for their country…for the sight before us is that of a strong and good nation that stands in silence and remember those who were loved, and who, in return, loved their countrymen enough to die for them.” – Ronald Reagan at Arlington National Cemetery.

Pre-Memorial Day Thoughts

The following was sent to me in an email, and this is what we should be thinking about year-round, not just one day a year.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the

VETERAN who
salutes the Flag,
It is the
VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag,

God Bless Each of our Veterans, living and dead, who have dedicated all or part of their lives for the principles of the founding of this great country.
