The First Post of 2011

The first post of the year actually comes on the second day of the year…in the afternoon…yeah, I know….I’m slacking…

So what am I going to write about?  We all know what Congress in their lame-duck session has done – more of the same stuff that got a bunch of them voted out in the last election.  Too depressing….

Many of you have noticed that at the top of the blog in the header is a daily message that changes from day to day.  Some are inspirational, some are cynical, and some are just thought provoking.  But there are many others that just didn’t make the cut.  So here are a few for your viewing pleasure:

“Your friends will know you better in the first minute you meet that you acquaintances will know you in a thousand years.” – Richard Bach

“When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world.” – George Washington Carver

“Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.” – Roger Miller

“The greatest lesson in life is to know that even fools are right sometimes.” – Sir Winston Churchill

“Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.” – Abraham Lincoln

“Experience is a dear teacher, and only fools will learn from no other.” – Benjamin Franklin
