Will the Real Racist Please Stand Up? – Part 2

This past week, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) introduced a resolution at its 101st annual convention in Kansas City, Mo., that accused the TEA Party movement of “harboring racist elements that are a threat to our democracy.”  Probably due to the “Joker” and other signs being displayed during some of the rallies, no doubt…

As far as I’m concerned, that resolution-accusation doesn’t hold any water.  And here’s why:

1)  Far, far ruder signs were displayed by various protest groups when George Bush was president.  Any signs that depicted President Obozo in a less than flattering light (possibly referring to the President’s ethnic background) are fair game in the world of politics.

2)  The TEA Party protested the Democrats’ policies and legislation supported by President Obozo.  There were no signs, to the best of my knowledge, that stated that Obozo is a bad president because of the color of his skin.

3)  The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People states that the makeup of the TEA Party is 99% white while other sources state a lower ratio.  Facts are slippery things, but there are videos out there showing other than white people attending the protests.

4)  The facts do not support the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s claim of TEA Party racism.  Booker Rising is a black moderate and conservative website that lists the above points and many more (post here).

5)  Last, and most importantly, the purpose of the TEA Party is to protest government taxes and spending.  The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People stated purpose is to advance the interests of one ethnic group over all other ethnic groups.  Which group has a stated racist purpose?

In today’s society, we are supposed to be blind to the color of a person’s skin.  I don’t think so, and here’s why.

image Groups like the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the “new” Black Panthers, and the race-baiters like Sharpton, Jackson, & Farrikan take every opportunity to wave the race card at any and all perceived racial slights or injustices, even if they are false.

During the last Presidential campaign, then candidate Obozo made a reference that he was “different from all those other Presidents.”  Everyone understood that he was making a reference to all the previous Presidents being white.  And as in his Presidency or on the campaign trail, any criticism of President Obozo’s policies or speeches is labeled racist regardless of the subject.

I can only hope that Indigo Red is right when he made this comment on the first post of this series:

It’s my belief Obama is doing more for race relations than all that has come before combined. By placing racism in the spotlight for every perceived and unperceived slight, even Blacks are getting so fed up they are looking at their White friends and coworkers and realizing they don’t know any racists except the baiters Sharpton, Jackson, Obama, Rangle, and various Liberal white politicians whose career future depends on continuing such nonsense. Four of ten Tea Party patriots are minorities. How does one explain that while accepting all Whites are crackers deserving of summary killing? How does one explain the election of Obama by a majority of Whites if those same Whites are racist honkys? It’s getting harder to continue the racist ruse.

I really hope that the minorities in this country wake up and see what these charlatans and con-men are up to sooner than later.  Only then can the nonsense stop.

  2. I do not believe the NAACP represents the views of most black Americans; some, but certainly not all. I have heard black Americans repudiate the NAACP’s attempt to further divide us along racial lines. I have heard Al Sharpton lie about the true character of Martin Luther King, and I have heard well-educated black Americans repudiate him, as well.

We must not fall into the trap of thinking there is but one black opinion in this country. Like any community, the black community (if there even is such a thing) has as many different points of view as any other. I’m fine with that. We are, in the final analysis, the total sum of our parts. I am a conservative because I hold and place a high value on conservative principles. I believe that no truly educated person can be a progressive, particularly if they understand the insidious nature of progressivism as it evolved in this country. But some people do embrace communism: the NAACP is one such organization.

  3. Perhaps the joke is on the NAACP. Instead of fighting against racism they are fighting for it. The obvious falsehoods they are relying on are starting to be seen for what they are. Perhaps we are closer to the cure for racism.

Mustang – I know that the NAACP doesn’t represent the views of all black Americans, but it frosts me that they think they do.
