My Two Pennies Worth…

Having looked over the reactions of my fellow bloggers, reading the transcript of the speech, and watching various video clips of President Obama’s State of the Union speech, I think I’m going to have to echo Supreme Court Judge Alito’s silent comment:

Not true.  Or at least, not wholly truthful.

I’m not going to mirror the detail and comments of my fellow bloggers except for the following thoughts:

The State of the Union Speech seemed like a retrenching speech, understanding only that a Republican’s victory in Democratic Massachusetts was a smack on the Democrat’s proboscis with a rolled up newspaper, but not any great setback from the agenda that Obama has set for the Congress to complete.  Yes, health care reform was put on the back burner somewhat, but it is still there waiting for some miraculous compromise.  So is cap and trade / climate change legislation.  A greater emphasis was put on the economy and jobs, but the steps that the President wants to take in helping Americans has a great potential in stifling recovery.  But he is still pushing that agenda.  So I have to echo this thought from an election in the not so distant past –

It’s the economy, stupid!

It was always been the economy, not healthcare reform, that concerns Americans.  If we don’t have jobs, then healthcare is almost irrelevant if we don’t have the money to pay for food on the table and a roof over our heads.  With the economy tanking and job losses each month in the hundreds of thousands, did we, as a nation, really give a rat’s behind about health care reform, especially with millions of bribes written into it?  No!!  Passing ill conceived legislation stuffed to the gills with pork concerns Americans because we will have to pay for it!

These inane antics of Congress and the President’s constant breaking of campaign promises does not lend credibility to either institution.  When trillions of dollars are spent freely by the Congress and approved by the President while hard-working people are put out of jobs and still expected to pay the bills just to live, is it any wonder that Tea Party demonstrations were organized across the country?  Haven’t the politicians been paying attention, or are they completely clueless?

Perhaps Scott Brown’s assertions that an elected seat doesn’t “belong” to anyone except the People of the country resonated with Massachusetts’s voters.  I fully expect it to resonate in the upcoming mid-year elections, especially if voters ask themselves if their elected representative represented the will of the People instead of the will of the Party they belong to.  That, my friends, is the beginning of real change that needs to take place in government, and not more flowery speeches by a community organizer playing President.

What the State of the Union Speech Should Report

What President Obama should say tonight – from The American Spectator:

This is your captain speaking. I have an important announcement. We lost radio contact with the ground shortly after take-off and have been flying blind ever since. I have no idea whether we are still in U.S. territory, and we do seem to be losing altitude and running short of fuel. Sorry, folks, but that’s the risk that you took in choosing to fly with us. Nancy and the other flight attendants will be coming through the cabin one last time to collect your valuables. Brace yourselves for a hard landing, and thank you for flying Hope-and-Change Airlines.

Truer words will never be spoken by the One…

Breaking News!!

Just got a phone call – The company I have been interviewing with has just made me an offer!  And they want me to start tomorrow!!

After ten months of unemployment, I HAVE A JOB!!!

There will be much celebrating tonight!!  (but not too much…)

The Teleprompter Takeover

teleprompter Consider this picture from President Obama’s address after meeting sixth-graders at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia.  Can’t the man give a speech without his Teleprompters?  One does begin to wonder who, or what, is running the country…

Perhaps the evil Cylons have joined forces with Skynet, and are downloading information into the Teleprompters for programming a previously unknown cybernetic model to lead us unwitting Humans down the garden path into a form of slavery known as “dependence on Government.”  All of it financed, of course, by George Sauron with help from Caprica 6 and Ahnold.

red-pill1I’m waiting for Teleprompters to become part of classroom teaching methods.  Using teleprompters as part of the constant visual stimulation of modern teaching methods is one of the greatest methods of brainwashing known to man and machine.  Add Teleprompters to the computers in theblue-pill1 classrooms, and no student will ever need to have a coherent thought to answer questions like what is the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything [42].  Soon, all humans will become part of the Matrix…or are we already a part of the Matrix?  Does anyone feel like a battery yet?  I need my Red Pill…or was it Blue… What was I thinking about?  I forgot…oh yeah…

Soon, we will all need Teleprompters to tell us what to say and do.  That way, we will all become as successful as the President has become over the past year.  But the program needs to be accelerated with the recent win in Massachusetts and the potential for the plans to be defeated.  Thus:

4telepromptersHumans, resistance is useless!!

The Farmer’s Donkey – A Lesson

One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well… The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; It just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw.

With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

The donkey later came back, and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

Moral #1: Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping. Never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Moral #2: When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always comes back to bite you!
