Terror Over New York

Yesterday, New Yorkers were terrified by a low-flying jumbo jet pursued by F-16 Fighters.  Panic ensued, and people left their jobs to flood the streets expecting the worst.

Who was behind such a dastardly deed?  As it turns out, the White House….or more accurately, a staffer in the Obama Administration.  A certain Louis Caldera, the White House military director, authorized the flight over Manhattan.

And here’s the reason as described by the New York Daily News:

Sources said the reason for the stunt was to create souvenir pictures of a customized Boeing 747, which serves as Air Force One when the president is aboard.

Photos of the plane flying over the Statue of Liberty were to be given out to family, friends or supporters.

So the reason for the flight was to create souvenir photographs or postcards for Obama supporters and/or travelers on Air Force One?  Who’s bright idea was this?

Does anyone else think that this is a waste of taxpayer money?  Flying Air Force One isn’t cheap by any stretch of the imagination, and to add a military fighter escort just adds to the cost.

But then again, asking government run by elitists to be fiscally responsible is way too much to ask for, especially when the money is someone else’s.

Not a day goes by that President BO, or one of his henchment doesn’t prove his total incompetence all over again.

  2. Z says:

Joe’s right and so are you.
You’d have thought they could photoshop the photos they wanted…instead of sending a message to terrorists that we’re goofing around simulating 9/11. What a disaster. And, we get another “it wasn’t ME” from Obama. TOTALLY incompetent and always an EXCUSE. grrr!

  3. Tom says:

What is also disturbing is that Obama stated that he didn’t know that this was happening. Shouldn’t he know where his plane is at?

  4. Does anyone else think that this is a waste of taxpayer money?

    Of course it is!

But nothing is too expensive for celebrating the reign of BHO. Ugh!

You are right, that was a bastardly thing to do. I have noted the presidential helicopters here in the D.C. area {they have two you know} doing this same stunt and I saw AIR FORCE ONE flying once so low I thought it was having mechanical problems or that something seriously was wrong.

I’d love to hear more about this; I thought the Secretary of Defense was the “military director,” or at least the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. But if I understand this correctly, there’s some bozo with a cubicle in the White House who’s never served in uniform, with the lofty title of “military director.” If anything will encourage another al-Qaeda attack, this has to be it.

Can you hear my teeth grinding?

Not only does this latest incident once again show the Obama administration’s incompetence, but it also shows an ugly insensitivity and callousness towards the people of New York. This asinine display practically mocks the horrors of September 11th, 2001!
So far, the focus has been on whether the administration warned the proper authorities in NY; the real point is that the whole thing was tasteless and totally unnecessary. The moral equivalent of this idiotic action would be to take a photo shoot of men dressed in Nazi uniforms for an upcoming movie right in front of an existing holocaust memorial.
It’s as mean as it is stupid!

I still think that there is more to this story than just a photo op. This was such an insensitive and arrogant move, I get mad every time I think about it.

  9. Tom says:

Everyone – the actions of the Obama Administration just keeps leading me back to the same general conclusion: We now have in power, in both the White House and Congress, a bunch of insensitive elitist incompetents who are like children in a candy shop that do not have parents. They are doing things because they now have the power to do what they want when they want. The flyover is just a small taste of what is yet to come from this administration.
