Goodbye, Dear Friend…

Got a call midnight local time from my wife telling me that one of our cats needs to be put down. He has coronary disease, and no amount of medication or treatment will ease his condition. He cannot breath on his own without being in oxygen.  It’s time to let him go.

Patches was a great companion, always wanting to be around you no matter where you were at. He was our buddy.

Goodbye, Dear Friend.  You will be missed.

So sorry to see. What a cutie too! I know what it’s like to lose a family member :(.

Hang in there Tom (((((hugs to you and wife))))))

Sorry to hear about Patches. Good pets are like family, and in many cases, better than having kids.

Our Oreo is marked very much like Patches. We are still trying to figure out if she is the dumbest creature on the planet or if she is an evil genius.

dcat & JR – Thank you both for your sympathies. It’s real hard being overseas & knowing that this was going on.

Just a note: We got Patches from a rescue shelter, and his original name was Oreo.

  4. J.R. says:

We got our Oreo from the local hardware store. Yes, people still drop off boxes of kittens in front of the hardware store here in rural central Indiana. She was free, but then we ended up spending something over $230 in having her de-wormed, fixed, declawed, etc.

A few weeks ago, the Princess made another trip to the hardware store. This time she came home with a little grey-striped fellow.

Isn’t it interesting that free kittens aren’t really free?

The wife and I will be looking for another one when I get back from Germany. In the meantime, the remaining cat is looking for his buddy and pestering the heck out of my wife.

I am sorry to hear about your dear friend.

  7. Tom says:

    Thanks, Teresa.
